Listening Ear Service

CARERS SUPPORT
We have been listening to what carers have been telling us about the isolation felt by families desperate to do the right thing for the eating disordered sufferer.

We are offering , for a trial period , family members the opportunity to use our new Listening Ear Support line which will be run by Paul Griffiths, a trained counsellor, who also facilitates our Carers Evenings.

As we start the service we will ask you to call Paul so that he may speak to you about the kind of telephone support he can offer, then make arrangements for him to contact you at a time and frequency that meets your needs.

· This is not a counselling service or a crisis line.

· It will be a pre arranged time to talk on the phone for those of you struggling with the day to day difficulties of being a carer.

· You will not be told what to do, or given advice and this is not a medical or psychiatric consultation.

· It will be the chance to share the frustrations and anxieties that are generated by the huge challenge to families presented with a close relative with anorexia or bulimia

The Listening Ear Telephone Number is 01872 264531*

* If you use our confidential answerphone do please make sure you let us know when and where is a good time to call you back.
